With improved user experience and many features to make your journey even easier:

  • Self check-in: communicate your presence on board Frecce, Intercity and Regional train services with just one tap, allowing you to skip ticket inspection.
  • Your ticket is always just a tap away: view your upcoming journey directly from the ‘Home Page’, and, if you have an iPhone, on your Apple Watch, including all the travel information you need: your coach and seat numbers, as well as real-time train status updates.
  • Pay with Apple Pay: purchase your journeys quickly and securely with Apple Pay directly from your iOS iPhone.
  • Pay with Google Pay: Purchase your journeys quickly and securely with Google Pay from your Android smartphone, after having added your payment card to Google Wallet.
  • Pay with Satispay: make payments quickly and easily, simply by entering your telephone number.
  • You can use either your CartaFRECCIA/X-GO points or bonuses, credits or gift cards to make purchases.
  • Door 2 Door Journey Planning: the dedicated section for authenticated customers now offers a new function, allowing you to plan your journey from your departure address to your arrival address. The service is currently only available for certain destinations.

  • Always stay up to date on the status of your train: check your train’s status even from the search function and turn on Smart Caring notifications to receive real-time information on your train’s progress.
  • Season tickets and carnets: you can now purchase season tickets and carnets for Frecce, Intercity and Regional train services.
  • Check available seats on regional trains: Check available seats and book your journey on board regional trains.
  • Quickly purchase your favourite journey again in the future: save your favourite journeys by tapping on the heart icon and you will be able to purchase them again the next time in just one tap from the ‘Home Page’.
  • Add to Google/Apple Wallet: save on Wallet your tickets, seasonal tickets and carnets.
  • Are you travelling on business? Log in using your user details and discover all the features and services dedicated to the Trenitalia for Business world.

    With the new app, you can also:

    • Purchase tickets for all trains and Regional Season tickets.
    • Quickly purchase a ticket from the station nearest to you when you turn on geolocation.
    • Retrieve your tickets by searching using the PNR and CP.
    • Automatically receive journey and train status information with Smart Caring
    • Quickly access your CartaFRECCIA and/or X-GO profile, which will allow you to view the QR code for your purchased tickets and all special offers exclusively for you.
    • Save details on your favourite travelling companions and payment methods, which will allow you to quickly retrieve this information again during future ticket purchases.
    • Quickly access Trenitalia social media platforms for information and assistance or send feedback on the use of the app directly from the Contacts section on the side menu.

  • Make your travel experience even better with Smart Caring

    Smart Caring is a totally free, real-time information service providing updates on train traffic.

    If your train is delayed by more than 15 minutes, changes have been made to the regularly scheduled service or there are delays affecting the whole line, you will receive a notification that will allow you to reschedule your journey or inform you if there are replacement means or transport available to allow you to reach your final destination.

    You can choose when you want to be updated and follow up to four trains to receive information on delays and alternative travel solutions.

    If you have turned on the ‘updates on my journey’ service after payment, you will receive a journey reminder 24 hours before departure, you will receive real-time information on the departure platform on the day of travel, and a notification if your train’s departure or arrival time has been delayed by over 10 minutes.
