You can register for online check-in immediately after booking your vehicle.

Check in online and simplify the vehicle pick-up process. All you’ll have to do is go to the agency to collect the keys, without having to print anything out. Just remember to present/show your driving licence and card used for payment, along with another valid form of personal ID. 

When you arrive at one of the Avis, Budget and/or Maggiore rental offices, go directly to the key collection point, where the staff in charge will give you all the necessary information.

For Trenitalia customers who choose car rental from Avis, Budget and Maggiore, there are many additional benefits:

• Free cancellation: full refund on bookings paid online (prepayment), up to 48 hours before the rental pick-up time; if you have to cancel a booking less than 48 hours before the rental pick-up time, you will receive a refund equal to the amount you have paid, minus the lesser of the following options: the equivalent of 2 days’ vehicle rental, or a variable fee depending on the country in which you made the booking (€65, £60, CHF76). It is possible to cancel bookings with payment at the agency (pay on pick-up) up to the rental pick-up time; in the event of a no-show, no refund shall be granted and a penalty may be charged.
• Hourly rentals: you can rent a car at the Avis, Budget and Maggiore offices at the train station even for just a few hours and enjoy all the benefits offered for longer-term rentals. In this case, there is no special booking procedure: just set the desired pick-up and drop-off times in the booking boxes.
• Sustainable mobility and hourly rates: it is now possible to rent “green” vehicles, i.e., latest-generation hybrid or electric vehicles, from Milan - Milano Centrale and Rome - Roma Termini stations. This makes it even easier to get around in the city centre, thanks to exemptions granted to “ecological” vehicles allowing them to enter certain ZTL (restricted traffic zones) and paid parking areas. Furthermore, thanks to the introduction of hourly rates on “green” vehicles, customers will be able to move about with ease, speed and safety, even for short, one-day trips.
• Delivery & Collection Service: if you would like a rental car to be delivered to your home instead of picking up the car at one of the rental agencies, you can make a reservation by contacting your nearest rental station. Likewise, you can arrange to pick up the car from another location other than the rental station. Delivery and/or collection must be agreed upon in advance with the rental office and is subject to availability and confirmation.

• Maggiore, Avis and Budget offers are valid for rentals in Italy that have been booked and carried out between 3 June and 2 September; they are non-cumulative and cannot be combined with any other current offer or promotion. These offers are reserved for Trenitalia Frecce train passengers arriving at the main Italian railway stations. All vehicle categories are included except the Prestige, Select and Sport Cars fleet. Car models are presented purely by way of example. Maggiore, Avis and Budget guarantee the category booked, not the model. Prices vary depending on the type of car, duration of the rental, date and place of rental.
• The CartaFRECCIA points earned will allow you to request a variety of rewards, but they shall not be considered qualifying points to reach Silver, Gold or Platinum status. In order to accumulate CartaFRECCIA points, when picking-up the car you have booked, you will need to show your CartaFRECCIA card. Points can be accumulated on car rental services purchased in Italy on the following websites: www.avisautonoleggio.it, www.maggiore.it, www.budgetautonoleggio.it, www.abg-noleggiofacile.it and http://www.trenitalia.com.
• Please note, it is possible to book the Delivery & Collection Service even at short notice: if you book before 12 noon, AVIS, BUDGET or Maggiore will be able to deliver the vehicle to areas in the vicinity of the agency before the end of the day.
