Frecciarossa connections and services

FRECCIAROSSA trains travel throughout Italy, reaching the maximum speed of 300 km/h; they run straight into the heart of the most important cities, shortening your travel time. 

Choosing a Frecciarossa train means being able to rely on frequent connections, departures and arrivals in city centres and territorial coverage of the major cities, with the possibility of choosing the most convenient station for your needs. 

  • Fast and frequent connections at convenient times

    Frecciarossa trains run on the following routes:

    • Turin - Milan - Reggio Emilia AV - Bologna - Florence - Rome - Naples - Salerno: in total, more than 110 trains per day*, some of which have an extended service that continues north to Brescia, in the midlands to Arezzo and Perugia, and south to Potenza and Taranto;
    • Venice – Padua – Bologna – Florence – Rome – Naples – Salerno: 26 trains per day*,with total of 40 trains every day running between Venice and Rome when Frecciargento trains are added to the list, including 10 fast-service trains to guarantee that the connection between Rome and Padua takes just 2 hours 59 minutes, and just 3 hour 15 minutes from Rome to Venice. An extension of regular train routes to include Udine and direct connections to Fiumicino airport are planned in the near future.  
    • Bergamo-Brescia-Verona-Bologna-Rome : 2 trains per day
    • Trieste/Udine – Venice – Padua – Vicenza – Verona – Brescia – Milan: 48 trains per day*, 8 of which have extended their regular route to and from Turin and 2 directly connect Venice, Padua, Verona and Milan with Genoa. To round out the services offered by Trenitalia in the north of the country, there are an additional 6 Milan-Turin trains per day.
    • Bolzano – Trento – Rovereto – Verona – Brescia – Milan: 2 trains per day (a new addition to the winter timetable!)
    • Turin/Milan – Reggio Emilia AV – Bologna – Rimini – Ancona – Pescara – Foggia – Bari – Lecce: 6 trains per day, including 2 to Pescara, 2 to Bari, and 2 to Lecce.

    *The number of trains running on this service is reduced at weekends and at certain times of the year. The numbers shown include both outward and return services provided by Frecciarossa trains.

  • Main characteristics of Frecciarossa trains

    Frecciarossa trains are Trenitalia's flagship product and offer you maximum comfort. They are ETR 500 and  ETR 1000 trains.  All are fitted with:

    • Air conditioning
    • Sockets for each seat
    • LED lighting 
    • Ample luggage space
    • Screen in all coaches with continually updated travel information and news.
    • FRECCE Portal accessible via Wi-Fi network, with entertainment services, internet access and travel information
    • Two places equipped for disabled people travelling in wheelchairs and 2 seats for carers in coach 3
    • Toilet for each coach and one equipped for disabled people in carriage 3
    • Baby changing table

    Frecciarossa trains offers 4 service levels Executive, Business, Premium and Standard.

    The Frecciarossa service uses Frecciarossa 1000 and Frecciarossa ETR500 trains.
