Trenitalia offers Italians living abroad and registered with AIRE the chance to purchase train tickets for travel within Italy, for groups of at least ten people, at a 40% discount on the adult Base fare. The discount is only permitted in 1st and 2nd class and in the Business, Premium and Standard services on domestic Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains.
The Executive service and Salottino lounge service are excluded from the offer.
The request must be submitted with the list of passengers and a copy of their AIRE registration certificates by e-mail to a Frecciarossa Group Office (ufficiogruppifrecciarossa@trenitalia.it) at least eight days before departure.
The discount is applied according to seat availability, limited by day, train, class or level of service, and cannot be combined with other offers and/or promotions that may be offered by Trenitalia on the same products and for the same routes, with the exception of those provided for children. In the case of groups of adults and children, there must be at least one adult present. In any case, the minimum fares for each category of train are unaffected.
Only one free booking change is permitted, up to one hour after the departure of the booked train:
- before departure at any Trenitalia ticket office, the Trenitalia Group Offices, travel agencies or at www.trenitalia.com;
- after departure, only at the ticket office in the station of departure of the train indicated on the ticket.
Only one ticket change is allowed up until midnight of the fifth day before departure of the booked train at any Trenitalia ticket office and the Trenitalia Group Offices. Reimbursement with a 20% deduction is permitted up until to midnight of the fifth day before departure of the booked train. If the passenger boards a different train to the one booked, the passenger will be considered as travelling without a ticket.
