If Frecciarossa, Frecciargento and Frecciabianca trains are delayed between 30 and 59 minutes, Trenitalia will grant passengers a bonus equal to 25% of the original ticket price, which can be used within 12 months to purchase a new ticket.
This bonus is non-cumulative and may not be used in conjunction with compensation awarded for delays of more than 59 minutes nor with any other type of compensation.

The compensation for delay is calculated basing on the total price of the whole travel solution, and is due also for purchases paid totally or partially with a bonus*.
* The solution is proposed by Trenitalia travel sales systems, and can contemplate the use of one or more services of the national transport in combination and/or in combination with one or more regional transport services, purchased contextually. International trains, other companies’ train and combinations of travels including regional services are excluded. The calculation of the compensation will take into consideration the departure time of the whole solution and, for regional train, the arrival time of the train selected during the purchase process.
In the event of a delay between the departure station and the destination station indicated on an individual, 39, 39/AS or “mixed general-use ticket” fare ticket, passengers may claim compensation in the amount equal to:

Once your journey has been completed, you may claim compensation independently within 1 year of the date on which the delay occurred or the expiration of the season ticket (pass or other specific cards) used, in the following ways:

If you decide to cancel your journey and if it is permitted by the type of ticket you have purchased, you may request a refund, subject to a 20% deduction to the original amount paid.
You can request a refund before the departure time of the booked train:
After the departure time of your booked train, you may no longer request a refund for journey cancellation.
If you decide to cancel your journey, you may request a refund for your ticket by 11:59 p.m. on the day before the date indicated on the ticket, subject to a 20% deduction to the original amount paid, unless otherwise stipulated by the individual fare involved.
Only the Regional Annual Season ticket may be refunded, before the start date of the selected validity period, subject to a 5% deduction to the original amount paid.
