One-way tickets
The on-board personnel is instructed to check ticket validity (printed receipts) by:
- Directly looking at it
- Checking the details printed on the receipt with the document of recognition exhibited at the same time as receipt of payment
- Checking the payment receipt by ticket code and bar code
Payment receipt/ticket is already validated so need not be punched by the traveller.
Travellers unable to show a printed receipt or a valid identification document are considered as not having any ticket and will be fined as per Art. 9 of C.T. or as per the individual provisions of the regional rules.
In cases of journeys made or attempted to be made with tickets or documents that have been transferred, counterfeited, altered or re-used, the traveller will be
liable to pay the full price for the full ticket route, plus a fine of three times that amount,
with the minimum of 50 euro.
Tickets or documents that have been transferred, counterfeited, altered, as well as any unlawfully in travellers' possession, will be confiscated.
For the other irregularities, the provisions are applied as per Art. 9 of the "C.T."
Travel/discount cards
The on-board personnel are required to check the validity of a Travel-/Discount Card by:
- Directly looking at it.
- Checking the details printed on the receipt with the document of recognition exhibited at the same time as receipt of payment
- Checking the payment receipt by ticket code and bar code
The payment receipt/Travel-/Discount Card is already validated so need not be stamped by the traveller
Travellers unable to show their print confirmation of purchase of their Travel-/Discount Card, or unable to show a valid identification document are considered as without a ticket and fined according to Art. 9 of the "C.T."s or to the provisions applicable to individual regional fares.
In cases of journeys made or attempted to be made with Travel-/Discount Cards or documents that have been transferred, counterfeited, altered or reused, the traveller will be liable to pay the full price for the full ticket route, plus a fine of three times that amount, with the minimum of 50 euro.
The Travel-/Discount Cards or documents transferred, counterfeited or altered, and those unlawfully held by the travellers, will be confiscated.
For the other irregularities, the provisions are applied as per Art. 9 of the "C.T."
Irregularities
Travellers with tickets/Travel-/Discount Cards bought on-line and found travelling on the trains of the National/International Passengers Division are considered as being without tickets and, as such, fined according to the current regulations.
