Frecciarossa 1000

Frecciarossa 1000 is the new high-speed train of Trenitalia, comfortable, safe and environmentally friendly, designed to meet the most advanced techniques. Able to travel on all European high-speed networks, it can reach a max speed of 400km / h thanks to its 16 powerful engines distributed on all the coaches making Frecciarossa 1000 a train able to exploit at best the adherence with the rails.

    Silent and environmentally friendly

    The new Frecciarossa 1000 is the first high-speed train to have obtained the certification of environmental impact (EPD), since it’s able to contain within 28 micrograms the CO2 emissions per passenger/kilometre and for minimized noise and vibration. The materials used in the construction of the train reaches a percentage of recyclability very close to 100%.


    Technological

    • High technological train with numerous on-board monitor present in all coaches for travel information and news constantly updated, power outlet at every seat, free WIFI access to the onboard Internet portal with entertainment services and 3g Internet connection and 4g configuration.
    • Equipped with the most advanced technological system for controlling the run of the train (ERTMS/ETCS) and a system of predictive diagnostics to ensure maximum safety while travelling.

  • The exterior of the train

    8 coaches for 202 meters of length. The front, characterised by with the long "nose", was designed optimizing the volumes dedicated to shock absorption to reduce drag ensuring maximum safety and comfort for travellers.

    The livery recalls the colours of the current Frecciarossa, but is perfectly adapted to the new train to highlight its forms giving an impression of great modernity and elegance.

     

  • 4 levels of service

    The 4 levels of service are easy to locate both outside and inside the train, with the specific pictogram located on top of all ports of entry.

    The well-finished interior design of Frecciarossa 1000 associates the elegance and maximum  travel comfort, the corridors are wide, the seats are ergonomic, vibrations are soundproofing, LED lighting, vibrations are almost absent, there is plenty of space for luggage in the overhead bins among the seats and luggage compartments on the ground present in some coaches.
    All levels of service bathrooms have a changing table.

    The coaches are characterised by different colours depending on the type of environment:

    • Coach 1: Executive (dominant colour - brown)
    • Coach 2 Business (dominant colour - blue)
    • Coach 3: Business + Bistro
    • Coach 4: Premium (dominant colour - red)
    • Coach 5-6-7-8: Standard (dominant colour - orange)

  • Executive

    The Executive can accommodate 10 passengers on the beautiful armchairs covered in champagne-coloured leather.

    The chairs of the Executive are 74 cm wide and are positioned a meter and a half one from the other. They are equipped with power-assisted system for the management of the large reclining backrest and leg rest extension in case the traveller wishes to find an ideal position for rest.

    The arrangement of armchairs on two rows only with distance from each other of a meter and a half and the possibility to rotate by 180° (so as to allow customers to travel always oriented to the direction of travel of the train) make this environment a unique travel solution.

    A new concept of service on seat: the traveller can choose among 3 different complete menus characterized by the use of Italian products of excellence, composed of a main dish, a snack, a dessert and a mini bottle of water, served on seat by the restaurant staff.     Services at the station

    The Executive customers can comfortably wait for the departure of the train inside the FRECCIAClub present in all high-speed stations. Trenitalia staff will be waiting for you at the platform for the check and will help you finding your seat.

  • Business

    Coaches number 2 and 3 are reserved to the Business level of service.

    The armchairs covered in leather treated with antibacterial products (as the ones of the other levels) are 69 cm wide and placed on rows of 3. The distance one from the other of more than a meter and the reclining backrest (up to 109°), provides a high travelling comfort also for those who want to rest.

    The crystal dividers, for added privacy, and the wide space for luggage (under the seats, roof racks and racks on the ground placed at the ends of the travellers’ hall) further improves the comfort while travelling.

    Customers wishing to travel in complete relaxation can choose the appropriate Silence Area located in coach 2.

    In coach 3, there are seats equipped for disabled guests. Here again, Frecciarossa 1000 is highly innovative. As a matter of fact, the whole coach is designed to ensure these customers a travel experience in complete autonomy. In concrete terms, in addition to the very wide dedicated toilet, the step forward made with this train is the possibility of enjoying in complete autonomy of the services of the train. Disabled customers travelling on Frecciarossa 1000 will for the first time reach the Bistro area and eat or drink, or reach the office of the chief conductor for clarification or information with no obstacles on the way.

    Half coach 3 is dedicated to the Bistro dedicated to all customers of the train. The Bistro is designed for a catering model suitable for a modern high-speed train, making use of products and accessories for consumption at the bar or comfortably on seat.

    Welcome Drink
    From Sunday to Friday Trenitalia offers Business customers a welcome service.  Available in a take-away, environmentally friendly and recyclable pack, the customer can choose from five different varieties of snacks: sweet, salted, light to low calorie level, gluten-free and also the special Edition for children. The offer includes a bottle of water, a soft drink or an Illy coffee (on the non-stop routes between Milan and Rome an Illy Iperespresso coffee is offered). And in the morning the choice of a free copy of one of the major newspapers.

  • Premium

    Coach 4 is reserved to the Premium level.

    The seats, arranged in rows of 4 are covered in leather and equipped with reclining backrest up to 109°.

  • Standard

    Coaches 5-6-7-8 are dedicated to the Standard level.

    The seats, covered in gray eco-leather with orange hems, are placed on rows of 4 and are of the same size of the Premium level one.

    The arrangement of the majority of seats in vis-a-vis mode (about 70%) and the possibility of accommodating the luggage even under the seats (as in Business and Premium levels), also provides for those who travel in this level of service maximum comfort and space.

    For Standard customers, the EasyFood service on seat gives the opportunity to comfortably consume a FOOD & BEVERAGE combo, with 23 alternative menus, and a selection of bar products.
