Following the provisions issued by the competent authorities, in order to maximize the protection of customer health,  Trenitalia has initiated measures and initiatives regarding the prevention of the spread of Coronavirus.

In particular, in compliance with the measures approved by the Italian Council of Ministers, and to protect travellers and employees:

• train sanitisation and disinfection operations have been enhanced by reducing the time intervals between one cleaning session and the next;
• hand sanitiser dispensers have been installed on trains;
• a new booking criterion for seats on board trains has been launched which, while maintaining maximum comfort, guarantees compliance with the safety distances prescribed by the Health Authorities;
• the welcome drink service on board Frecce trains has been suspended; necessary essential services are still guaranteed in the FRECCIABistrò coach;
• from 9 March, the Freccia Lounge, Freccia Club and Sala Freccia services will be suspended at Italian stations.
