NATIONAL TRAINS:
- 0-under 4 years of age: free, without a seat. 50% discount with a seat for the child
- 4-under 15 years of age: 50% discount on the Base offer.

REGIONAL TRAINS
- 0-under 4 years of age: under the age of 4, when accompanied by an adult and not occupying a seat of their own.
- 4-under 12 years of age: 50% discount.
- Over 12 years of age: full price.

Valid on all regional trains except within the regions of Campania, Abruzzo, Sardinia and Puglia, and in the autonomous provinces of Trento and Bolzano.

Abruzzo: free for children under 1 metre tall, when accompanied by an adult and not occupying a seat of their own.

Bolzano: free for children under 6 years of age as well as children who are residents of the Province of Bolzano who have reached the age of 6 but are not yet attending compulsory education, provided they are accompanied by a paying adult and not occupying a seat of their own.

Campania: free for children under 6 years of age, provided they are accompanied by a paying adult and not occupying a seat of their own. Full price for children over 6 years of age.

Lombardy: free for children under 4 years of age, when accompanied by an adult and not occupying a seat of their own; 50% discount: over 4 and under 14 years of age; full price for children over 14 years of age.

Puglia: free for children under 10 years of age accompanied by an adult with a regular ticket; for children aged 10+ years, there are no free tickets or discounted rates for age.

Sardinia: free for children under 6 years of age, when accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket (provided they have a valid form of ID proving their age, in case of doubt); if the accompanying adult is travelling with more than one child under the age of 6, they are required to purchase a ticket at the full applicable rate for every two children (e.g. one child is free, two children - a full ticket, three children - a full ticket, four children - two full tickets, etc.).

Trento: free for children under 6 years of age, accompanied by a paying adult (or holder of free tickets and free travel pass) with the right to a seat, for a maximum of 5 children under 6 years of age for each accompanying adult.

SPECIAL FARES
Lazio - Fiumicino Airport Fare 1/Ter: children under the age of four travel for free, provided they are accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket; children over 4 and under 12 years of age travel for free, provided they are accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket; in this case, one child may travel free of charge for each paying adult.

Sicily - Palermo Airport: children under the age of 4 travel for free, provided they are accompanied by an adult with a valid ticket; over 4 and under 12 years of age, the childrenâ s fare costs €3 (Series B) from the Palermo area to Punta Raisi station, or a supplement of €1.50 (series C) from any station outside the Palermo area to Punta Raisi station.

Fare 14 urban/metropolitan areas: in the cities of Bari, Rome, Venice, Palermo and Turin, where Fare 14 for Urban areas is in force, the children's discount does not apply.

Change reservation on board the train

Change reservations on board the train

As a promotional offer, CartaFreccia Oro customers are allowed to change their booking on board the train for travel on Frecce, Intercity and Intercity Notte trains from 1 hour before and up to 1 hour after the departure of the booked train, without paying the €10 penalty, provided payment is made immediately on board.
The customer must show the on-board staff their CartaFreccia and an ID card.
This concession is only valid for tickets that allow access to another train (excluding season tickets and reservations supporting season tickets). Please note that the cardholder's CartaFreccia number must be shown on the ticket.
Assigned seating is not guaranteed.
Should the journey take place in a time span other than that permitted, the passenger shall be considered to be without a ticket.

Refer to the Base ticket regulations for the other conditions.
