With over 500 new-generation trains already in circulation, and many more on the way, we have renewed ourselves for each and every one of you. Here are our new generation trains, completely Made in Italy.
Electric double-decker train
Spacious, comfortable and sustainable.
In 4-, 5- or 6-carriage versions, and up to 136 metres long, it can accommodate up to 1,400 people and reach a 160 km/h top speed.
For an enhanced travelling experience, it offers new generation seats, equipped with power and USB sockets to charge smartphones or laptops during the journey.
It is a sustainable train, particularly attentive to environmental aspects:
- Up to 97% recyclable;
- Made from recycraw materials;
- Equipped with innovative energy-efficient technologies;
- 30% less energy consumption than previous-generation trains.
It is a train attentive to every need:
- If you never travel without your trusted bike, you will find up to 18 bicycle parking spaces on board, equipped with electric sockets for recharging e-bikes;
- More space for luggage than in older-generation trains, with spacious luggage racks available throughout the train;
- Much more information and better visibility than before, thanks to the doubled-sized on-board monitors;
- For parents who need some extra space, the nursery area on board features a changing table and a comfortable baby seat in restrooms;
- For persons with mobility issues, dedicated seating areas near access doors and restrooms;
- For enhanced safety, each carriage is equipped with a closed-circuit camera system;
- Travel in maximum comfort with the on-board lighting system featuring LED lighting, noise and vibration reduction, and air conditioning that dynamically adjusts to the actual number of passengers.
200Km/h single-deck electric train
Technologically advanced and capacious, it can transport up to 600 people, and can reach a maximum speed of 200 km/h.
Environmentally friendly and energy-saving train:
- 95% recyclable;
- 30% energy reduction compared to previous-generation trains.
What will you find on board?
- Enhanced comfort thanks to seats with USB and 230 V power sockets, for charging your smartphone or laptop while travelling;
- More space for those travelling with their bikes, with up to 16 dedicated spaces on board;
- Improved on-board lighting with LED lighting, which automatically adjusts according to the quantity of ambient light present;
- Large windows to enjoy the outside scenery, and let in more natural light;
- For those travelling with children, a stroller area is available;
- More information thanks to twice the monitor size for better visibility;·
- Digital video surveillance camera system.
The journey on board is more comfortable thanks to the carriage structure, with improved thermal insulation that reduces cooling and heating times, and programmed door closing, to prevent any warmth loss.
And for an even quieter and more undisturbed journey, noise and vibration levels have been reduced to a minimum!
Single-deck hybrid train
Trenitalia's first hybrid train with triple power supply - electric, diesel and battery. A true generational leap, as it can travel:
- With diesel engines on non-electrified lines;
- With electric motor on electrified lines;
- With batteries to cover the first and last mile on non-electrified lines.
It is an environmentally sustainable train:
- 50% fuel consumption reduction;
- Much lower CO2 emissions compared to current diesel trains;
- Made from materials that guarantee high levels of recyclability (95%);
- Minimised energy consumption, thanks to an interior and exterior LED lighting system and smart air conditioning consumption management.
The new hybrid train can reach a top speed of 160 km/h and accommodate up to 300 people seated in the four-car composition.
With its innovative design, it is one of the most advanced trains in the world of rail transport!
It is a technologically modern train, with advanced systems to serve our customers:
- Closed-circuit surveillance camera system;
- Passenger information system based on high-visibility 24-inch monitors;
- Integrated passenger counting systems with dedicated cameras on all access doors.
All services on board the Blues are designed with our customers' needs in mind:
- More space for those who carry bicycles, with up to eight dedicated bike stations on board;
- Enhanced comfort thanks to new generation seats, equipped with 220V and USB power sockets, to charge smartphones or laptops during the journey;
- For persons with mobility difficulties, wheelchair areas located near access doors;
- More luggage space on board the train;
- The journey is even more comfortable, thanks to minimised noise and vibration levels, and an air conditioning system that dynamically adjusts according to the number of passengers on board.
