FAQ for the X-GO Loyalty Program
You can redeem the points you’ve earned as cashback on your next journey: every 150 points unlock a €3 discount on Intercity and Regionale trains When purchasing online or through the Trenitalia App, simply select “X-GO Cashback” before payment and choose how many points you’d like to convert for an instant saving.
You can also redeem your points at ticket offices, and in the FRECCIAClubs/FRECCIALounges for eligible customers, by providing your X-GO code and the number of points you wish to convert. Cashback can also be used to purchase tickets for someone other than the X-GO Cardholder who earned the points.
Points can be earned on Intercity/Intercity Notte and Regionale trains. For full details, please see the dedicated section.
- If you didn’t provide your personal code, name, and surname at the time of purchase, your points cannot be credited.
- If you provided only your name and surname (without your personal code), you can still request crediting within 30 days by submitting a support request via the Customer Area, under the “Program Assistance” section.
- If you’ve purchased a ticket for a journey that hasn’t taken place yet, no problem: your points will be credited after the day of travel.
- If two tickets are associated with the same personal code for simultaneous journeys (e.g. two people travelling together), only the ticket used by the cardholder will earn points, as per program rules.
- If you’ve purchased a ticket not eligible for points under the Regulations, no points will be earned.
- Regional or inter-regional tickets with origin or destination in Lombardy, Emilia-Romagna, or the Autonomous Provinces of Trento or Bolzano are not eligible for points.
- Mini-group tickets for regional travel do not earn points.
- Eurocity and Euronight tickets are not eligible for points.
- Tickets for services operated by other companies (e.g. Ferrovie del Sud Est e Servizi Automobilistici S.r.l.) are not eligible for points.
- Tickets purchased directly on board the train do not earn points
To earn points, it’s essential to enter or provide your personal X‑GO code before completing any purchase.
When purchasing through the App or on this website, log in with your credentials and proceed to purchase your Regionale or Intercity ticket. Alternatively, you can enter your X-GO code during the checkout process.
If you’re purchasing at a ticket office, in a FRECCIALounge/FRECCIAClub or through the call centre, just share your 9-digit personal X-GO code with the operator.
Remember to check that your X-GO code is correctly indicated on your ticket.
If you don’t have a password or you’ve forgotten it, you can request a new one here. It’s quick and easy: click “Request” and enter your details along with the email address where you’d like to receive your password.
Your personal code is indicated on the digital card you can find in the “X-GO” section of the Trenitalia App, or in the customer area of this website.
If you’ve already registered for a CartaFRECCIA before joining X-GO, your personal code will be the same.
If you’ve already registered, or you’re a CartaFRECCIA customer, you can join X-GO through the Trenitalia App or by clicking here.
You can join through the Trenitalia App, or by completing the form available here. You can also join at the customer service offices/counters located in train stations, where available, at ticket offices, or through travel participating agencies.
You can cancel your X-GO membership directly through your customer area.
You can go to a ticket office or service counter with your legal guardian and join directly at the counter. Remember to bring ID documents for both yourself and your guardian.
When points expire, any unused points will no longer be available as cashback.
You can earn points until 31 December 2025 and use the cashback until 31 January 2026.
You can check your points balance in the App, or on this website, in the Customer Area under "Check your Points Balance" section. There you’ll find both your “Total Points Balance” and your “Points Balance”. Your Total Points Balance includes all points from purchased tickets, even for journeys you haven’t taken yet. Your Points Balance includes only the points earned from journeys already completed. You can also check your points balance by calling the Trenitalia Call Centre on +39 06 3000 (premium-rate number), available 24 hours a day, every day.
You can use previously earned points in blocks of 150 as cashback on any purchases, with each block giving a €3 discount. Cashback can be applied as long as there is a minimum residual amount of €1 left on the ticket.
Cashback cannot be applied to mixed shopping carts that include journey types other than Regionale and Intercity services.
Cashback cannot be used together with other discount coupons.
A minimum of 150 points is required, giving you a €3 discount on Intercity and Regionale trains.
How many points will I receive if I’ve bought tickets on behalf of multiple people?
When you purchase tickets on behalf of multiple people, you will only receive the points for the journeys taken by the X-GO Cardholder.
Points are credited within 3 days from the date of travel. Points earned from the purchase of Trenitalia carnets or season tickets will be available within 3 days from the purchase of the carnet/season ticket. Log in to your personal area to view your updated points balance.
