CartaFreccia cashback: more journeys, more points, discounts on the Frecce!
With Cashback you can convert your points into discounts to be used immediately on Freccia tickets and carnets:
- 300 points for a €10 discount
- 600 points for a €20 discount
How to use Cashback
Using CartaFreccia Cashback is very easy. If you’re purchasing online or through the Trenitalia App, select “CartaFreccia Cashback” before payment and indicate the number of points to be converted for an immediate discount.
You can use Cashback on a minimum amount of €20 if you use 300 points, or €40 if you use 600 and it will only be visible if it can be used on the ticket you are purchasing.
If there is more than one Freccia ticket in the cart (e.g. two passengers or outward and return tickets, or two connecting Frecce, etc.), you will be able to choose which ticket you want to apply the Cashback to (e.g. you can apply two Cashbacks to the same ticket, or one to each ticket).
In addition, you can also use it at ticket offices and at FrecciaClubs/FrecciaLounges, if you have access to them.

- Cashback can be used by the CartaFreccia cardholder to purchase tickets on Frecce trains on the website www.trenitalia.com and on the Trenitalia App, in ticket offices and in FrecciaClubs/FrecciaLounges.
- The CartaFreccia cardholder can decide whether to use the Cashback for discounts on their own tickets or on those of one or more other passengers.
- It cannot be used for International, Regional, Intercity or Intercity Notte tickets and cannot be applied to purchase season tickets, passes, access rights, tickets with group offers, offers on the Trenitalia for Business programme and its ancillary services. Moreover, it cannot be applied to cases of mixed travel solutions that also involve an IC or regional train in addition to the Freccia train. However, if multiple Freccia trains are purchased in a single transaction, you can choose which train to apply the discount to and, if there is more than one, decide to use them on the same ticket or on different tickets.
- The Cashback amount can be applied to a single travel ticket (it cannot be applied to the total amount of the cart) and can be used to pay for only a portion of the ticket, up to a maximum of 50% of the total price (e.g. to use one discount coupon, the cost of the travel ticket must be at least €20, to use 2 discount coupons, the cost of the travel ticket must be at least €40).
- A maximum of 2 Cashbacks can be used (corresponding to a total conversion of 600 points into discounts) for each individual transaction, therefore the maximum discount that can be applied is €20.
- Cashback cannot be used in conjunction with other discount coupons.
- The part of the ticket paid for with Cashback is not eligible for collecting CartaFreccia points.
- Cashback transactions will be visible in the CartaFreccia account statement.
- Booking changes (date/time) are permitted for tickets purchased using Cashback for free, if provided for by the type of offer purchased.
- If you change your ticket, you will lose the right to reuse the Cashback value and the points spent will not be credited back.
- The value of any cashback cannot be refunded or compensated. As such, only the amount of the ticket actually paid will be eligible for refunds or compensation.
- Holders of tickets purchased with the Cashback discount coupon can use a different train for the same journey, if the type of ticket purchased allows it and the times and conditions established are met, upon paying the difference between the full price and the discounted amount actually paid, plus a €10 penalty.
