From 1 April the new Civitavecchia Express will connect Civitavecchia, one of Italy’s largest cruise ports, directly with the heart of the Eternal City.
Two morning trains will leave Civitavecchia every day for Rome Ostiense station, located near the Circus Maximus (the ancient Roman chariot racing track) and the majestic Colosseum, with an intermediate stop at Rome San Pietro station, located a few steps from Vatican City, after just 38 minutes. For your return journey to Civitavecchia, there are two options available, the 15:37 train or the 16:30 train.
The Civitavecchia Express is the ideal choice for those who have just one day to visit Rome’s most famous and fascinating tourist attractions, without having to deal with city-centre traffic or the hassle of finding parking.
A return ticket costs just €15 per person. Children under the age of 12 travel free of charge. The Civitavecchia Express timetable has been designed with holidaymakers in mind, by taking cruise ship docking and departure times into account. A single ticket costs €10 and you can purchase a return ticket for just €15. Young children aged 0 to 4 travel free of charge, while children under the age of 12 travel free of charge when accompanied by an adult. Pets are welcome on board and there is no additional cost for large luggage.
Travelling between the port and Civitavecchia railway station has never been easier. From 1 April, passengers will be able to avail of the Civitavecchia Portlink, a new combined train + bus service. Tickets for this service are already available for purchase on all Trenitalia sales channels.
The shuttle bus service takes you directly from the port to the train station in just a few minutes, making it even easier for you to continue your journey to the capital. All buses leave from Largo della Pace, strategically located a few steps from the entrance to the port.

Provided they are accompanied by a fare-paying adult, children under the age of 12 are only required to pay the bus fare (€2.00 per journey). Tickets can be purchased directly at CSP sales points in Largo della Pace and at the coffee shop in Civitavecchia railway station.

All bus and train services have reserved seating for people with reduced mobility.
Discounts or reductions on the CSP portion of the fare are not permitted. The Civitavecchia Portlink ticket for the Civitavecchia station – Civitavecchia Port route cannot be purchased separately on Trenitalia ticketing systems or points of sale. Tickets for the Civitavecchia Portlink service can be purchased from all Trenitalia sales channels (website www.trenitalia.com, the Trenitalia App, from self-service points at the station and from LisPaga points of sale through Lottomatica, SisalPay and Banca5).
