For a safer journey, from 1 September passengers may only travel with a Green Pass* or equivalent certificate on Frecce, Intercity, Intercity Notte, EC and EN trains and on the FrecciaLink service (pursuant to decree-law number 111 of 6 August 2021).
Green Passes will be checked on the train by the on-board personnel.
Customers who purchased tickets for the above services before 25 August 2021, for journeys taking place from 1 September 2021, are entitled to seek a full refund for their tickets. The refund must be requested before the train’s departure time and, in any case, no later than 30 September 2021.
Tickets shall be reimbursed via an electronic bonus equal to the value of the ticket purchased, which must be used within 24 months of the date of issue.
Refunds may be requested through the dedicated section of this website or by contacting the number 063000, option 0 (the reference rate is the urban or extra-urban tariff set by the customer’s telephone operator).
As an alternative to reimbursement via electronic bonus, customers may request that the amount paid be refunded using the same payment method used at the time of purchase by contacting the Trenitalia ticket offices or — exclusively for electronic payments made through the Trenitalia app, www.trenitalia.com, ticket offices or self-service channels — at 063000, option 0, by presenting or providing the ticket details. Again, this must be requested before the train’s departure time and, in any case, no later than 30 September 2021.
For Carnets purchased before 25 August 2021, customers may seek a refund of the unused residual amount prior to the expiry date of the Carnet and, in any case, no later than 30 September 2021. This will be issued in the form of an electronic bonus valid for 24 months in an amount equal to the residual value of the carnet.
For Frecce and Intercity season tickets purchased before 25 August 2021 and valid in the month of September 2021, it is possible to seek a refund before the season ticket is used and no later than 30 September 2021.
For valid Tutto Treno Cards, it is possible to request a refund in proportion to the unused residual amount as of the date on which the refund is requested, until and no later than 30 September 2021. For season tickets and Tutto Treno Cards, refunds will be issued in the form of an electronic bonus valid for 12 months.
*this does not apply to minors whose age excludes them from the vaccine campaign (up to 12 years of age), or to those who are exempt on the basis of a valid medical certificate.
