Experimental
Tests and
Measurements
In order to verify the validity
of the experimental system tests
on the system components and on the
complete system are scheduled. Component Tests:
> Photovoltaic tile module:
thermal tests (tests of aging)
and tests of resistance
to aerodynamic stress
(wind-gallery tests);
> Converters: functional
and insulation tests. |
A series
of measurements will be
undertaken on the first prototype in
the following conditions:
> Stationary carriage: electrical
tests to evaluate the performance of
the system in terms of the efficiency
of the single devices, with particular
reference to the capacity of the
system (converter) to find the point at
which the maximum power is
provided;
> Moving carriage: pressure
variation tests (passing trains, entry
into and exit from tunnels) and similar
tests to those envisaged for the
stationary carriage.

Panel's power 1m²
As an example of the foregoing, the energy trend and the results
of the tests are hereby provided, recorded on an application using similar panels on a fixed installation.

 |
Objectives:
> Reduction in CO² emissions
into the atmosphere with the
consequent reduction of the
greenhouse effect;
> Extension of the duration
of the batteries with a
consequent production of waste and
of the batteries/accumulators
at present in use on the rolling
stock.
> Improved facility for the use
of the systems on railway vehicles.
|
> Definition improved
technology
for the use of photovoltaic panels
for energy savings in the railway
sector.
> Making public the problems
discovered and the solutions found
in the course of European
development of technologies
for the benefit of other goods
and passenger transport
companies belonging to the E.U. |
