Trenitalia for

For Trenitalia, a disabled client is a passenger who should be able to access all the same rail services as other passengers. The services offered by the Group, driven by local and national needs, recognise equal rights amongst all passenger-clients without discrimination. In particular, the promise of all the Companies within the Group is to facilitate passenger mobility at every phase of the journey.
Trenitalia, for its part, guarantees assistance from departure to arrival, when stations and trains are booked in advance and the times and instructions given in advance.
Assistance for disabled clients is organised in almost 255 stations. The Centres in the 15 main stations are the contact point for all the clients requirements for the train journey. The trains with specially equipped carriages for disabled clients, having their own carriage, and the stations where a welcome and assistance service is available, are clearly indicated on the Official Timetable.
The company currently offers about 1200 'equipped' trains a day to guarantee mobility to handicapped passengers, plus approximately 220 stations with appropriate help centres. More than 900 trains of the Regional Transport Division have a carriage modified for disabled clients with the provision of a wheelchair, while hundreds of different installations at stations offer self-service ticket purchase that can be accessed by wheelchair. In addition, certain passengers (visually handicapped, seriously disabled, and those receiving an attendance allowance) may take advantage of special preferential tariffs.
To guarantee access to stations and trains the State Group of Railways is providing increasing numbers of special barriers.
Information regarding services for disabled clients may be found on the Official Timetable on the train, on relevant leaflets, available at Help Centres at main stations and at most National Associations for the protection of disabled people, and may be requested from the Unique National Disabled Helpline (199 30 30 60). The Unique National Number 199 30 30 60 is dedicated exclusively to services for disabled clients. For other services and general information and activities call the Trenitalia Call Centre (892021).
