Insurance coverage
Insurance companies provide various types of policy giving specific coverage for school trips. Some insurance policies are compulsory under Italian Law, others are imposed by Italy's Education Ministry, and others again are left to the discretion of the schools themselves.

INSURANCE COVERAGE FOR EDUCATIONAL TRIPS



There are two types of policy:
- Packet A - Standard Coverage
- 24h Medical Assistance (through Europ Assistance)
- Third-party liability. (compulsory under Italian Law) with maximum indemnity coverage of €250,000;
- Personal liability up to a maximum indemnity coverage of €50,000.00 (compulsory under Italian Law)
- Return home during journey
- Forced early return due to death in family
- Packet B " Full Coverage
- 24h Medical Assistance (through Europ Assistance)
- Third-party liability. (compulsory under Italian Law)
- Personal liability up to a maximum indemnity coverage of €50,000.00 (compulsory under Italian Law)
- Baggage insurance up to €250 in Italy and outside Italy, with maximum indemnity per baggage item of €100, purchases of basics after baggage theft/loss up to €100 with set exemption of €50.
- Advancing of medical expenses, prescription drugs or the cost of basics up to a max. €500.
- Road ambulance transport from a casualty department to a different hospital chosen by the insured, as far as a 200 km max. round trip.
- Journey of a relation of the insured person hospitalised for over 7 days.
- Return home of the insured convalescent
- Sending of urgent medicines that are unavailable on-site
- Re-examination of the clinical documentation issued by the hospital the Insured was taken into following an accident or illness during the trip (second opinion);
- Forced early return due to death in family
Trenitalia price for Packet B: 7.50 euro per person per day (4.50 per day per person +3.00 per journey per person)
TO TAKE OUT THE POLICY:
Fill in the form "Assicurazione-RDA" to apply for Insurance coverage specifying the type of Insurance coverage you want: "Standard" (Garanzia Base) or "Full" (Formula Completa) coverage. Enclose a copy of your Trenitalia tickets.

At any place or time during the journey, should assistance be needed, the insured person, accompanying person or student may contact the Operations Headquarters on Freephone 800.542.002, which is open 24 hours. This helpline will either make direct provision of the necessary assistance or authorize it to be commissioned.

The accompanying person is requested to notify each student the insurance policy number of 280002200, specifying :
insured persons acknowledge that, by phoning the Helpline, they authorise the assistance office to use their data as per the Italian privacy Law.
After returning home from a trip during which an incident has taken place, to claim for refunds for the insured person, for claims brought by third-parties, and for claims concerning baggage, insured persons must submit notification and documentation by registered post to:
