SECURE PAYMENT SERVICE

The on-line ticket purchasing system uses the most up-to-date security technology available today for Internet transactions. To pay for rail tickets purchased online, Customers can use credit cards, the Bankpass Web service or a prepaid CartaFacile card.

Trenitalia uses the secure "e-shopping SANPAOLO" payment system run by the Sanpaolo-Imi Banking Corporation. "e-shopping SANPAOLO" allows you to purchase online with absolute ease while guaranteeing security and privacy. Transactions are not carried out with tools managed by Trenitalia, but through servers with secure technology run by the Sanpaolo-Imi Banking Corporation.
After making a payment, a message will appear confirming that the transaction has been carried out successfully. Any browser warnings notifying of a redirection to a non-secure server involve only the simple confirmation of the transaction on behalf of Trenitalia.



Payment by Visa and Master card

Further to the new security measures adopted, the international Visa and MasterCard circuits have introduced an additional control method on credit card transactions. .It involves a security number , comprising a group of three digits printed on the back of the credit card, in the area reserved for your signature..To conclude the transaction, in addition to the usual details (long number on the card, expiry date and total amount charged), from the 1st of January 2005 , you will be required to specify this code as well.

Logo: Bankpass Web To pay using the Bankpass Web service, you have to first have signed up for the service at www.bankpass.it.
To proceed to purchase, please enter your User-ID and password (provided when registering) to access your wallet and choose your preferred payment method (credit card, prepaid Soldintasca card or PagoBancomat): the transaction will be completed without the credit card or PagoBancomat details travelling over the Internet. For every transaction made with your wallet, you'll receive an e-mail confirmation.

Payment with prepaid CartaFacile

Logo:CartaFacilePrepaid CartaFacile is electronic money issued to the bearer (who uses personal number codes, the "Prepaid number" and the "Secure Key") by a bank or authorised financial intermediary. The Card allows you to pay for purchases made online through the CartaFacile circuit.

Prepaid CartaFacile does not require a current account, guarantees complete anonymity during payment and is protected by the most efficient security systems. With a single Prepaid CartaFacile, issued in predetermined amounts, you can never spend more than 500.00 euro. To be able to make a purchase using a Prepaid CartaFacile you have to be recognised as being registered on the CartaFacile circuit by using the card number, your registration expiry date and the password chosen when you registered.
Once the payment has been made on the CartaFacile circuit page, a message will appear confirming that the transaction has been carried out successfully. Any browser warnings notifying of a redirection to a non-secure server involves only the simple confirmation of the transaction on behalf of Trenitalia.

Please note

To ensure the payment systems work properly, you must use a version 4.0 or higher browser (Netscape or Explorer), activating the "cookies" function from the "Options" on the browser itself.
If the transaction is not completed, we recommend you repeat the online reservation and purchase process from the start, by selecting "Times-Ticket Purchases" from the main menu of the Trenitalia website and not by using the browser's "Back" button.

Payment details concerning purchased tickets cannot be acquired and processed by Trenitalia in any way, since the transaction is managed by servers belonging to the Sanpaolo-Imi Banking Corporation, in a protected and secure environment.



Issuing an Invoice

The request for invoice issuance must be made when buying the ticket that the invoice refers to.
If you want to buy tickets on-line by credit card, please note that it is currently not possible to have an invoice issued However if you need an voice, you can obtain one by selecting the "self-service" delivery procedure and requesting the invoice from the ticket office immediately after picking up the ticket.
