For wheelchair passengers

Over 350 medium and long distance Intercity, Eurocity, Eurostar Italia (ETR 460, 480 e 500) trains have a carriage equipped with special areas for two passengers travelling in a wheelchair and two helpers (the carriage displays the appropriate international symbol on the outside).People in wheelchairs are guaranteed a seat in the equipped area, prior to checking seat availability, by contacting SALE BLU, or by calling the RFI's national helpline number 199 303060 or Trenitalia's Call Center 199 892021 option 7 or also 06/3000 for users who are not enabled to call 199.

Attention: access to trains is possible only for wheelchairs whose dimensions are in compliance with ISO 7193 (width 700 mm; depth 1200 mm; height 1090 mm) and whose full load does not exceed 200 kg.
Access to carriages takes place via a lift truck operated by staff expressly assigned by RFI.
The area for passengers in wheelchairs is characterised by a travel zone with a big window and various accessories (table, handrail, call button, etc.) and is located close to adequate toilet facilities.
