Following the works planned on the Domodossola line from 12 August – 2 September 2012, there will be changes to the circulation of the International Italy-Switzerland and Italy-France connections.

Italy-Switzerland Eurocity trains

Milan-Basel and vice-versa (EC 50, 52, 56 and 51, 57, 59)Venice- Milan-Geneva and vice-versa (EC 32, 34, 36, 42 and 35, 37, 39, 41)
From 13 August to 2 September 2012: the service will run as follows, with replacement buses on the route between Domodossola and Iselle:
- train from Milan to Domodossola;
- from Domodossola by bus to Iselle;
- at Iselle continuation by train to Briga, and then another train to the final destination.
Same conditions for the trip from Switzerland to Milan.

Times: the journey is estimated to take approximately 30 minutes longer than the usual time. New timetables already loaded on the booking systems.
Places available: Reduced capacity with respect to the usual one, and possible limitations to 2nd class service only
Passengers from/to Venice: Trains from Venice to Geneva and vice-versa start and stop at Milan. For the Milan-Venice stretch another ticket must be purchased (numerous Freccia Bianca connections available).
Bicycle transport: temporarily unavailable.

Italy-France Thello trains

Venice- Milan-Paris Gare de Lyon and vice-versa (EN 220, 221)
From 12 August to 1 September 2012, the Thello trains are diverted via Modane, instead of via Domodossola.
Times: The journey is estimated to take approximately 1h30 longer, in the direction from Italy to Paris. 
Departure from Milan Central station brought forwards to 23.20 instead of 23.38.

Places available: reduced capacity compared to usual.
